The factors influencing the efficiency and life of diamond circular saw blade include cutting process parameters, grade, grain size, concentration, hardness of binder, etc.

1. Sawing parameters
01 Saw tangent speed
In practice, the linear speed of diamond circular saw blade is limited by equipment conditions, quality of saw blade and properties of cut stone. In terms of the service life and cutting efficiency of the saw blade, the linear speed of the saw blade should be selected according to the nature of the different stones.

02 Sawing depth
Within the allowable range of sawing machine performance and tool strength, the cutting depth should be selected as large as possible to improve cutting efficiency. When there is a requirement for a machined surface, a small depth cut should be used.

03 feed speed
The feed speed is the feed speed of the cut stone. Its value should be selected according to the nature of the stone being sawed. Generally speaking, sawing softer rocks, such as marble, can increase the sawing depth and reduce the feed speed, which is more conducive to improving the sawing rate. Sawing fine-grained, comparatively homogeneous granite can properly increase the feed speed. If the feed speed is too low, the diamond edge can be easily flattened. However, when sawing granite with uneven soft and hard grain structure, the feed speed should be reduced, otherwise the vibration of the saw blade will cause the diamond to break down and the sawing rate will be reduced.

2. Diamond grain size
The commonly used diamond grain size is in the range of 30/35~60/80 mesh. The harder the rock, the finer the grain size should be selected. Because under the same pressure conditions, the thinner and sharper the diamond, the easier it is to cut into the hard rock. In addition, generally large diameter saw blades require high sawing efficiency. Rougher grain sizes, such as 30/40 mesh and 40/50 mesh, should be selected. Small diameter saw blade has low cutting efficiency and requires smooth cutting section of rock. Finer grain size should be selected, such as 50/60 mesh and 60/80 mesh.

3. Diamond concentration
Diamond concentration refers to the density of diamond in the matrix of the working layer. The specification stipulates that the concentration of 4.4 carats in the carcass of each cubic centimeter working layer is 100% and that of 3.3 carats is 75%. Volume concentration indicates the volume of diamond in the segment and specifies that the concentration is 100% when the volume of diamond is 1/4 of the total volume. Increasing the concentration of diamond is expected to extend the life of the saw blade, since increasing the concentration reduces the average cutting force per diamond grain. But increasing the concentration will inevitably increase the cost of the saw blade, so there is a most economical concentration which increases with the sawing efficiency.

4. Hardness of knife head binder:
In general, the harder the binder, the stronger its resistance to wear. Therefore, when sawing abrasive rocks, the hardness of the binder is high; When sawing soft rock, the hardness of the binder should be low. When sawing hard and abrasive rocks, the hardness of the binder should be moderate.
